Birzos Bridge S549, Over the River Dane, between the H.Manto St. and Tiltu St.

Historic, technical, architectural value
Rebuilt in 1948

A steel drawbridge may be lifted up from both sides. There are four torches in the corners of the bridge. It was rebuilt in 1879 – according to the project of architect Mejeris. The author of the metal part is an engineer Bemstein from Visbaden. The bridge was built by a firm from Gdansk. In 1904 and the third decade of of the 20th century it was recunstructed. During the WW2 it was blown up.
