Building S382, Historical part of the city
16 Ligonines St.

Historic value
Built in 1816
The oldest school in Klaipeda (late 18th c. – early 20th c.)

A two-storeyed brick building of a rectangular plan is symmetric: there is a porch in the center and there are two rooms on each side of the porch. The architecture of the street façade is simple and moderate. The building goes with the rest houses of that time that belonged to the middle class citizens. The school was named Naujamiescio (or Zardziu). In 1843 the school was made higher from the side of the yard. After the reconstruction the stairway to the second storey was made. In the beginning of the 20th century the school was made into hotel. After the war the building became a living house.
