Vezeju Street, The Old City
In 15th century in the first half. 18th century was named the Kailindirbiu Street (Kirschner Gasse). In 18th century end, already known as Fuhrmanno Gasse, and later called the Fuhrmann Strasse – Vezeju Street. In Soviet times, the street was renamed into Mazaja Street. 20th century In the first half, Lithuanians called the street the J. Pipir name (the priest of the Lithuanian Church at the end of the nineteenth century). This clergyman wrote and published for the Lithuanian book (Litauische ... Memel, 1899).
