Art of Klaipeda in figures
|
After Worl War II in Klaipėda lived only one proffesional painter. In 1966 the section of Lithuanian Artists Union and in 1973 - already the organization with ten members was established. In 1969 opens door Childrens' Art School. In 1973 - the first Picture Gallery in the history of the town was opened. In 1974 in State Conservatoire of Lithuanian SSR, the Art Department was established in Klaipeda faculties. In 1988 door opened Art Department of Public Library of Klaipeda Municipality, which completes art, design and architekture literature, collects information about artists of Klaipeda region In 1983, a huge Exhibition Pavilion was inaugurated. In 2001 Lithuanian Artist association Klaipeda's Department contained 100 members. |
